Witnesses confirm that one person is dead following a car crash after five gunshots were heard at the corner of Marlboro St. and Prescott Street in Keene late Tuesday. According to the Sentinel, the car crashed head on into a pole.
According to Rob Kroeger, a senior at KSC and neighbor on Marlboro St., he had a police scanner on during the time of the incident and heard police speaking about a robbery occurring at Diversified Computers at 255 West St.
Kroeger said he heard police say there was a hole in the roof of the computer company’s building. In addition, Kroeger said he heard police say on the scanner that they had two suspects in custody.
He said he ran outside just in time to hear a collision, see sirens blaring, and hear someone yelling, “show me your (expletive) hands!”
Nick Feuerbach, a KSC junior, and Jen Sanita, a sophomore, were at 357 Marlboro St., right next to the area where the incident occurred.
“We were watching TV when we heard screaming,” Feuerbach said.
After hearing the gunshots being fired, Feuerbach went outside when he thought it was safe. He said, “I left the house and saw cops hovering over the dead body.”
Another witness, Josh, who asked that his last name be withheld, said, “I was on my porch smoking a cigarette when I saw the cruisers race up the street and back down. I heard four to five gunshots, then a crash.” According to Josh, he ducked back inside his house for safety.
“I didn’t know what was going on. It’s scary that’s it’s happening in my area.”
Police at the scene declined to comment, but according to WMUR, the incident was an officer-involved shooting. The NH Attorney General Office was called in to investigate. No further information was available.
